相比之下的德甲聯賽 ，穆勒則認為 ：“在瓜迪奧拉離開之後 ，我們曾經有過兩三年的時間（包括去年） ，拜仁的對手都是也許有機會奪冠的 。我們有過處於低潮的時期 ，但是對手們並沒有成功把握住 ，也許有一些運氣的成分在裏麵 ，我不知道應該怎麽去解釋 ，但也許就是我們更強一點 。”
穆勒最終總結道 ：“我認為英超是世界上最大的聯賽 ，這一點無需質疑 。但這並不意味著英超前五的球隊在歐戰之中能夠擁有什麽優勢 。舉個例子，當你把英超第四和德甲第四拉到一起來比賽的話 ，那麽任何一方晉級都是正常的結果 。”
拜仁在本賽季的歐冠抽簽中遭遇了上賽季的決賽對手巴黎 ，如果能夠順利晉級，他們將迎戰曼城與多特之間的勝者 。值得一提的是 ，在奪冠賠率榜單中 ，曼城是唯一超過拜仁的存在 。
