同時 ，法甲聯賽在海外的收視率也大幅上升。今年10月24日 ，巴黎聖日耳曼在客場對陣馬賽 ，這場比賽被稱作法國的國家德比戰 ，而僅僅在北非和中東地區，這場國家德比的收視率就比上賽季時增加了76% 。盡管梅西在球場內還沒有給大巴黎產生預期的影響 ，但他的到來已經在球場外給法甲的傳播帶來了積極的影響 。
