北京時間16日晚23點，李铁中國隊將在沙迦迎來12強賽的示弱第6場小組賽 ，對手是跟澳澳大利亞隊 ，兩隊首回合比賽 ，大利大差中國隊0-3負於對手 ，距们目前國足已經站在懸崖邊，先定如果本場比賽無法取勝，目标基本將提前被淘汰出局。李铁
賽前發布會上 ，示弱主教練李鐵表示 ：“我們經曆了很多努力 ，跟澳戰勝了很多困難 ，大利大差才來到12強賽 ，距们我們非常珍惜每一場比賽 ，先定經曆的目标5場比賽，球隊越來越好 ，李铁越來越能適應比賽節奏 ，這幾天的訓練，我的球員都很專注 ，希望明天比賽能夠竭盡全力 ，把比賽打好 。”
隊長吳曦表示 ：“對手實力比較強 ，但12強比賽任何事情都可能發生 ，希望能夠有好的發揮 ，取得滿意的結果 。”
談到明天的比賽目標 ，李鐵表示 ，製定了一個小目標 ，就是要比第一場踢得好 ，“第一場12強賽就是對澳大利亞 ，讓我們體驗一下12強賽的節奏 ，現在已經過了5場，我相信我們的球員已經適應了這個節奏 ，昨天訓練前，我也跟隊員講 ，我們至少要製定一個小目標 ，就是比第一場踢得好 ，球場上做到每球必爭 ，給對手製造更大的困難 。”
李鐵認為，“從整體實力來說 ，我們跟澳大利亞有很大的差距 ，對手大部分球員來自歐洲 ，但我們也在給球員傳遞信心，球場上任何事情都有可能發生，我們認清跟對手的差距 ，但不要放棄每一個球的爭奪 。”
在被問到中國足球未來應該走一個什麽樣的發展道路時 ，李鐵表示：“首先我們應該搞好青訓 ，選出更多有潛力的年輕人 ，盡早送到歐洲、南美 、日韓 ，比我們水平高的國家的磨礪 ，經過長時間的積累之後，可能會發生質的變化 。如果我們亞少賽 、亞青賽是常客 ，進12強賽常態化 ，國家隊集訓 ，有80%的球員來自歐洲 ，不一定是五大聯賽 ，隻要是來自歐洲主流聯賽 ，那時候我們有實力去跟澳大利亞日本抗衡 。”（搜狐體育 裴力）
