不過上賽季切爾西中途換帥 ，新主帥圖赫爾上任後很重視對克裏斯滕森的培養 。目前克裏斯滕森已經成為了切爾西的主力 ，在本賽季的前5輪英超聯賽克裏斯滕森4次首發 ，此外在上周中切爾西1-0戰勝澤尼特的歐冠小組賽中克裏斯滕森也是首發 。憑借出色的表現 ，克裏斯滕森重新贏得了切爾西俱樂部的認可，切爾西也因此決定和他續約 。
克裏斯滕森目前的合同在明年夏天到期，球員本人也願意續約留隊。目前雙方已經談妥了一份四年新合同 ，此外還有優先續約一年的權利 ，克裏斯滕森的周薪將增加至12萬英鎊 。從一年半之前險些被切爾西甩賣 ，到如今成為球隊不可或缺的重要球員，克裏斯滕森用努力扭轉了自己的職業生涯。
