意大利國家隊連續兩屆世界杯無緣決賽圈階段的賽事，這樣糟糕的罗意表現讓亞平寧半島責難聲四起。近日 ，大利意大利著名教練卡佩羅在接受天空體育采訪時犀利指出 ，缺乏既然意大利隊缺乏西班牙人那樣的西班习德腳下技術 ，就應該務實一些 ，脚下技术學習德國足球的该学国踢球方式 。
卡佩羅當然不滿意意大利本次世預賽的卡佩表現 ，而且認為現在這支意大利國家隊的罗意發展方向有問題 ，“我覺得意大利的大利足球好像是在複刻瓜迪奧拉15年之前的足球方式 。北馬其頓在比賽中展現出了比我們更強的缺乏決心 。我們現在需要以德國的西班习德足球模式為模板而不是西班牙的足。原因 ？脚下技术因為西班牙人的腳下技術比我們好很多 ，我們無法做到西班牙人那種（傳控）方式 ，该学国我們得從德國人的卡佩踢球方式中得到啟發 。”
老帥在講到如何找尋合適的戰術時 ，提到了亞特蘭大 ，“在意大利 ，隻有亞特蘭大做得比較好 。他們有自己的風格，而且踢出了自己想要的足球 ，也取得了不錯的成績 。”
對於意大利隊緣何無緣世界杯 ，卡佩羅認為球隊失去了歐洲杯時的優點 ，“在歐洲杯之後 ，我們的國家隊似乎沒有像在歐洲杯時那樣堅定且謙遜地去比賽 ，他們應該覺得自己是歐洲杯的冠軍，卻忘記了自身的特點了 。”
