北京時間11月16日淩晨 ，世预2022世界杯預選賽歐洲區C、欧附F 、加赛I三個小組戰罷 。已定意其中，席葡英格蘭10-0血洗聖馬力諾，萄牙以小組頭名出線 ，利列小組第二的残酷波蘭獲得參加附加賽的資格；新科歐洲杯冠軍意大利0-0悶平北愛爾蘭 ，而瑞士4-0大勝保加利亞 ，世预最終藍衣軍團無緣直接晉級2020年世界杯 ，欧附隻能去踢附加賽。加赛
目前已經確定要打附加賽的已定意國家是A組的葡萄牙 、B組的席葡瑞典、C組的萄牙意大利、F組的蘇格蘭、H組的俄羅斯 、I組的波蘭 、J組的北馬其頓 、E組的威爾士和捷克既可以通過爭奪小組第二參加附加賽 ，還能通過歐國聯的途徑獲得附加賽的資格 ，除此之外 ，奧地利也是通過歐國聯獲得了一個附加賽的名額 。
世預賽歐洲區附加賽共12支隊伍參加，將分為3組 ，每組4支球隊 ，采用單場淘汰製 ，每個小組將有一支隊伍可以晉級世界杯 。北京時間11月27日0點 ，世預賽歐洲區附加賽的抽簽將在蘇黎世舉行，附加賽的比賽時間為2022年3月24日至29日 。
