Forget Avengers: Infinity War. This right here is actuallythe most ambitious crossover event in history.
Thanos has landed in Fortniteand... well... he's pretty great. As Epic Games revealed on Monday, the big bad of Infinity Warjoins the mega-popular battle royale game this week in a limited-time event tied to the new Avengers.
SEE ALSO:Who's who in 'Avengers: Infinity War'The game rules work the same as they always do: 100 players face off in a duel to see who can be the last one standing, all while the large, open map shrinks over time, pushing everyone closer and closer together in the process. But now, with the Avengerscrossover twist, one player can actually become Thanos.
Hidden somewhere on the map in every match is a fully assembled Infinity Gauntlet, stones and all. The first player to find and collect it transforms into the Mad Titan, picking up an assortment of superpowers in the process: Super jumping, super punching, and super purple-beams-of-death.
He's definitely not unbeatable. Puny humans can take heart in the fact that only the more powerful Rare, Epic, and Legendary weapons drop in this limited time mode. And if you do manage to bring Thanos down, you can run in and claim the dropped Infinity Gauntlet as your very own.

Cool stuff. It looks like there's a trade-off when you turn into Thanos: You get these great superpowers that give you more firepower and vertical movement than any human foe, but you also can't move so fast, and you present a big target to everyone nearby.
But! Thanos coming to Fortnite does mean we're all now blessed with one amazing and very real possibility: A Thanos dancing meme.
