凱瑟琳-馬約加曾指控，语抗议C羅2009年6月在美國拉斯維加斯的涉嫌一家酒店強奸了她 ，之後她曾報警 ，但2010年1月她和C羅達成了庭外和解協議，C羅向她支付了27萬英鎊 。但2018年9月，凱瑟琳-馬約加在拉斯維加斯再次提起民事訴訟，稱自己在簽署庭外和解協議時“精神上無行為能力”，因此要求判罰協議無效 。
凱瑟琳-馬約加隨後向C羅索賠5600萬英鎊 ，其中1800萬英鎊是因為“過去遭受的痛苦和苦難” ，1800萬英鎊是因為“未來將要遭受的痛苦和苦難” ，還有1800萬英鎊則是對C羅的懲罰性賠償 。但經過調查取證後，美國克拉克縣地方檢察官辦公室在2019年宣布 ，沒有足夠的證據 ，因此不會對C羅進行起訴 。
而C羅一直強烈否認關於強奸的說法，稱這完全是“假新聞” 。不過女權組織顯然對C羅的自辯並不認可 ，還因此雇傭飛機打出標語 ，給C羅回歸曼聯後的首秀“添堵” 。
