這份信為打字機打印 ，短短的幾行字中就有9處FUCK ，由此可見寫信的球迷有多麽不滿 。而亞曆山德羅-莫塔則稱 ：“公平競賽是一個全世界都知道的概念 ，它起源於英國的現代體育……”隨後他還配了一個笑哭的圖標 ，以此嘲諷這麽做的英格蘭球迷 。
《羅馬體育報》稱 ：“我們的大使館收到的這封信 ，內容是對歐洲杯決賽結果的一係列令人難以置信的侮辱和指責 。”還有來自蘇格蘭的網友嘲諷稱：“嗯 ，這封信肯定不是從蘇格蘭寄出的 。”
今夏歐洲杯決賽在英國倫敦的溫布利球場舉行 ，這是1966年世界杯後英格蘭再次殺進大賽決賽 ，但這一次英格蘭卻在主場輸給了意大利 。很多英格蘭球迷無法接受這個結果 ，決賽之後甚至有15萬球迷簽名請願要求歐洲杯決賽重賽，但像這位球迷這樣寫信破口大罵的行為顯然是不正確的。
