北京時間6月18日消息，强赛今日國際足聯更新了亞洲球隊排名，分档分组並且確定了12強賽的国足分檔 ，國足仍排名亞洲第九 ，排亚在分檔中被分入第四檔 ，洲第同檔球隊為伊拉克，列入這意味著在12強賽分組抽簽中 ，第档國足不會與伊拉克同組 。避开

國際足聯表示 ，盡管卡塔爾排名亞洲第五也是E組頭名，但作為東道主已經獲得了世界杯資格 ，不會參與第三階段的賽事 。
