中國隊此次西行 ，主教練李霄鵬放棄了身在巴西的入籍隊員 ，也沒有征召在西甲效力的武磊 ，利用12強賽最後兩輪比賽，加速中國隊新老交替的意圖非常明顯 。中國隊首要任務是在最後兩場比賽中盡最大努力表現出應有的競爭力 ，還有就是力爭避免小組墊底。日前 ，亞足聯確定了中沙之戰的主裁判 ，由來自阿聯酋的哈桑執法 。中國隊客場挑戰阿曼隊的最後一場比賽，主裁判是來自韓國的高亨進 。
