北京時間7月1日下午3點 ，强赛世預賽亞洲區12強賽抽簽正式舉行 ，抽签由於受到疫情影響 ，实录亞足聯以視頻方式對抽簽進行直播，国足国伊亞足聯秘書長溫莎.約翰親自完成抽簽 ，苦战开韩根據抽簽規則 ，日澳十二支球隊被分為6個檔次 ，南避分別被抽進A 、强赛B兩個小組 。抽签
首輪抽簽黎巴嫩被率先抽出 ，实录以小組第6的国足国伊身份進入A組，這樣一來同為第六檔球隊的苦战开韩越南則順理成章進入到B組 。
第二輪抽簽 ，日澳敘利亞進入到A組 ，南避與黎巴嫩同組 ，强赛阿曼則進入到B組 ，與越南同組 。
第三輪抽簽同檔球隊伊拉克率先被抽出 ，進入到A組 ，與中國隊的死敵敘利亞同組，這樣中國隊則順理成章進入到了B組 ，與阿曼和越南同組，此前越南足協相關人士也曾經表示 ，希望能夠在12強賽中與中國隊同組 ，這樣的簽位 ，也讓中越足球終於可以在亞洲足球最高舞台上一決高下 。
第四輪和第五輪 ，沙特和澳大利亞隨即被抽出 ，進入到中國隊所在的B組 。
最後一輪的種子隊分配中 ，伊朗隊率先被抽出 ，進入到A組 ，這樣日本隊將作為種子隊進入到B組 ，中日兩隊也將在12強賽中麵臨兩場直接對話 。（搜狐體育 裴力）
