東京奧運會男足比賽 ，埃及奥运將會在7月22日到8月7日之間舉行 。公布當地時間本周五 ，大名单萨埃及國奧隊公布了22人名單 ，拉赫落选利物其中並沒有頭號球星薩拉赫的浦坚名字。據《進球網》報道稱 ，放人薩拉赫之所以無緣東京奧運會 ，埃及奥运是公布由於利物浦堅決拒絕放人 。
上個月 ，大名单萨埃及足協就聯係了利物浦 ，拉赫落选利物他們希望薩拉赫能以超齡球員身份參加東京奧運會 ，浦坚但遭到了利物浦的放人拒絕 。在利物浦方麵看來 ，埃及奥运奧運男足比賽並不是公布FIFA認可的官方比賽，這意味著利物浦不需要無條件放人 。大名单萨
利物浦不願意放人 ，也是情理之中的事情 。在奧運男足決賽結束一周之後 ，英超就將展開新賽季首輪較量 。如果埃及打進決賽的話 ，薩拉赫不但將錯過利物浦全部的賽季前訓練和熱身賽 ，而且極有可能將缺席英超前三輪比賽。
明年1月 ，埃及將會參加非洲杯，屆時薩拉赫肯定會獲得征召 。非洲杯是FIFA官方賽事 ，這意味著利物浦無法強行留住薩拉赫。在這種情況下 ，利物浦更加不可能放薩拉赫踢奧運會了 。薩拉赫半年之內兩次為國踢大賽的話 ，那對於利物浦的利益而言是個巨大的傷害。
