北京時間5月18日 ，李玮磊继中國足壇名宿 、锋支前國家隊隊長李瑋鋒現身上海 ，持武此行他將與老大哥範誌毅聯袂代言由歡動遊戲出品的续留街機經典《三國戰紀2》手遊 。作為中國球員留洋的洋年员不于国遇先驅，李瑋鋒也談到了武磊留洋西班牙的轻球看法 。他表示 ，满足自己非常支持武磊繼續留洋 ，内待“隻有接受歐洲足球的李玮磊继洗禮，才能真正提高 ，锋支真正幫助到中國足球 。持武”
李瑋鋒表示 ：“我非常支持武磊繼續在西班牙效力 ，续留無論踢西甲 ，洋年员不于国遇還是轻球西乙，隻要能踢得上球 ，满足就可以堅持下去 。武磊踢西乙可能比西甲還難，西甲更講究技戰術配合 ，跟武磊的足球風格比較相似 。到了西乙 ，西班牙人要成績 ，要馬上重返西甲聯賽 ，武磊的出場機會肯定會受影響。這都是正常的 。”
李瑋鋒表示，自己給武磊的小建議就是繼續堅持下去 ，不要輕易言退 。“這是他的夢想 ，也應該成為我們所有中國年輕球員的夢想 。你們應該幹什麽 ，你們應該去留洋 ，不要滿足於你在國內拿到什麽樣的物質條件 ，什麽樣的待遇 。”
李瑋鋒說 ，日韓足球隻所以能夠稱霸亞洲 ，就是因為他們有越來越多的球員能夠經受歐洲聯賽的洗禮 ，他們距離歐洲足球越來越近 。“這是我們非常缺少的 ，我們想要真正的提高 ，就要像範導、李鐵 、楊晨那樣，一定要去留洋 ，去歐洲踢球，你在歐洲的足球生涯未必是非常美好的 ，但這段時間對於你日後事業的幫助 ，是非常大的 。我們現在的問題就是很多孩子不願意去留洋。”
在李瑋鋒看來 ，我們現在還有U23 、U21的政策 ，保護年輕球員 ，但在歐洲，很多23歲的球員，早就是兩三個孩子的爹了 ，“我們20歲就已經就在國家隊踢了 ，所以這政策意義並不大 。隻有更多的年輕球員出去 ，才能真正幫助到國家隊 ，這方麵做好了 ，未來歸化的球員隻會越來越少 。將來我們如果有更多有天賦的可塑的年輕球員去留洋 ，不要說去五大聯賽 ，哪怕去五大聯賽的二三級聯賽 ，能夠踢得上比賽 ，我覺得就是一種成功。”（搜狐體育 裴力）
