北京時間7月18日20:00 ，范加防守2021年中超聯賽第6輪比賽，斯特上升廣州城隊在花都體育場與山東泰山隊0-0戰平 。球队本場比賽雙方都創造了不少破門良機 ，斗志但是肯定空间都因把握能力欠缺 ，未能打破僵局 ，不错最終雙方0-0握手言和 。范加防守
賽後新聞發布會上 ，斯特上升廣州城主教練範加斯特在談到本場比賽時說：“今天這場比賽比較艱苦 ，球队山東泰山作為廣州賽區的斗志頭名實力非常強勁 ，跟這樣的肯定空间對手比賽需要一點運氣 。今天我對球隊在傳控球方麵不夠滿意，不错有時候球員在球場上所做的范加防守一些決定或者是傳球的失誤不太好 。值得肯定的斯特上升是 ，球隊有一股打不死的球队戰鬥精神 ，也是依靠這一點讓我們拚盡了全場。我也告訴過隊員們 ，即使贏不了，我們也不能輸。”
在比賽80分鍾後才開始換人是出於什麽考慮 ？範加斯特解釋說 ：“因為我們以防守為主 ，所以希望能保持球隊防守狀態和防守結構的穩定性 。直到一些球員的體力支撐不住或者出現了傷病，才做換人調整 。”
對於本場的防守滿意嗎 ，賽前是如何做布置的 ？範加斯特介紹說 ：“賽前我們分析了對手的優勢和弱點 ，但還需要球員們在球場上執行 。我對本場的防守感到非常滿意 ，在限製對方兩個邊路的傳中以及中路爭頂方麵做得相當不錯 ，但我感覺我們還有提升的空間 。”
球隊在防空方麵是如何做準備的？範加斯特表示 ，賽程比較緊 ，留給我們訓練的時間不太長 。但還是結合視頻 ，給球員們講解位置感上存在的問題，找到一些需要提高的東西 。
這場比賽是葉楚貴的百場裏程碑 ，評價一下他的場上表現 。範加斯特說：“我對他的表現很滿意 ，他很出色。在有球時，他總能為球隊創造進攻機會 。一路以來都對他的表現是看好和滿意的 ，收獲百場裏程碑對他來說是個榮譽 ，我為他感到驕傲，希望他繼續努力 。”（文信）
