3月2日 ，国足亞足聯公布了更新後的强赛确定卡塔爾世預賽40強賽部分比賽賽程安排 ，除3場確認安排在3月下旬舉行的赛程比賽外 ，40強賽其他各個小組比賽的月日亚賽程也大體敲定 。按照亞足聯的战菲規定 ，在40強賽各小組集中製比賽的律宾承辦賽地確認後 ，賽事承辦會員協會將具體敲定每一輪比賽開球時間及賽地 。日战中國隊所在A組也對比賽先後順序做了一番調整。叙利
上月中旬 ，国足亞足聯先後與40強賽各小組參賽會員協會舉行線上會議 ，强赛确定敲定了40強賽餘下4輪比賽的赛程最新賽程安排。按照國際足聯 、月日亚亞足聯溝通的战菲結果：40強賽參賽各隊將利用5月31日至6月15日這段國際比賽日周期進行比賽 。其中 ，律宾5月30日或31日 ，日战各組所有參賽的4支客隊須抵達賽事舉辦地 。6月16日為各隊統一離開賽區的時間 。40強賽最後4輪比賽大部分比賽（除3場安排在3月進行的比賽外）從6月3日開始 ，每隔4天進行一輪比賽，具體比賽日為6月3日 、7日 、11日和15日 。
不過 ，在這個過程中 ，延期並不是將小組賽最後四輪比賽的時間全部順延 ，而是第九輪 、第十輪的比賽日期維持不變 ，將3月份原本應該進行的第七輪以及第八輪比賽穿插到5月31日至6月15日這個國家隊比賽窗口中 ，即將第七輪的比賽安排在第九輪比賽之前 ，將第八輪比賽插在第九與第十輪比賽之間 。
於是，根據此次調整 ，中國隊所在A組的最終賽程為 ：
6月3日第7輪中國隊vs馬爾代夫隊（同輪菲律賓隊vs關島隊）
6月7日第9輪中國隊vs菲律賓隊（同輪關島隊vs敘利亞隊）
6月11日第8輪關島隊vs中國隊（同輪馬爾代夫隊vs敘利亞隊）
6月15日10輪中國隊vs敘利亞隊（菲律賓vs馬爾代夫隊)
與關島隊 、菲律賓隊比賽的先後次序發生了變化 ，這對於國足必然會產生一定影響 。這是因為綜合各隊實力來看 ，菲律賓隊的實力遠在關島隊之上 。在敘利亞隊以8分遙遙領跑的情況下，中國隊晉級的主要對手很可能正是菲律賓隊。如果按照原有競賽次序 ，中國隊在遭遇菲律賓隊之前，本可以把與馬爾代夫隊 、關島隊的比賽作為重要練兵機會 。這樣的調整實際也需要國足教練組在備戰過程中調整好自身的策略 。
