下半場僅僅開始2分鍾 ，本澤馬又展現了自己精湛的射術 。在接到博格巴精準的直塞球後 ，本澤馬插入進去右腳小角度低射破門 ，為法國反超比分 。本澤馬繼2014年世界杯與洪都拉斯完成雙響後 ，在大賽中第二次為國家隊梅開二度 。而已經33歲零186天的他還超越齊祖成為歐洲杯獨中兩元最年長的法國球員 。本場比賽憑借著如此出色的表現 ，本澤馬還當選了歐洲杯官方全場最佳球員 ，這個獎項可謂實至名歸 。
盡管沒能最終幫助球隊取勝 ，但是梅開二度的本澤馬無疑是高盧雄雞急需的，本屆杯賽盡管群星璀璨 ，但是法國小組賽除了格列茲曼進球外 ，隻有本澤馬破門得分了 ，他們的另一個進球還來自於德國的烏龍 。被人寄予厚望的姆巴佩在小組賽中表現平平 ，盡管可以在進攻端製造威脅，但是目前一球未進，因此本澤馬的複蘇對法國後麵的征程無疑是一針強心劑 。
