賽後，惊讶日本女足主帥池田太出席了發布會，队表他表示：“首先向中國女足表示祝賀，现们我很驚訝於中國隊的缺少强表現 ，尤其在缺少主力球員（王霜）的情況下 ，她們表現得很好 、很頑強。”
“當然 ，失敗對我們來說是痛苦的 ，我們必須接受它 ，並從這次失敗中吸取教訓 。我跟我的隊員們說，我對你們在場上的努力付出感到非常滿意 ，通過這次結果 ，我們會得到成長 。”
“我希望在未來的比賽中 ，看到我們的得分能力和控製比賽的能力得到提升。”
至於為何主力球員菅澤優衣香未能出場，池田太回應表示 ：“她因為在上一場出現了傷病而沒能上場 。”
不過對於池田太這番言論 ，日本球迷並不買賬 ，不少球迷在評論中直呼換教練 ，還有球迷表示很傷心 ，因為被淘汰而哭了 ，情緒快崩潰了 ，更有球迷直言這支國家隊是令人失望的女足 。（DD）
