北京時間6月18日下午，埃里據《世界體育報》轉載《米蘭體育報》的克森消息 ，丹麥球星埃裏克森已經成功接受手術 ，成功除颤在身體內植入了心髒複律除顫器 ，植入置恐但埃裏克森的为永足球生涯依然麵臨著提前結束的可能 。
《米蘭體育報》表示 ，久装埃裏克森於昨日接受了手術 ，被迫植入心髒複律除顫器 ，退役被認為是埃里對因心律不齊而引起的相關心髒疾病的常規幹預措施。但植入了心髒複律除顫器 ，克森或許意味著埃裏克森的成功除颤職業生涯就要做出改變 。今天，植入置恐埃裏克森將離開哥本哈根當地的为永醫院 ，返回自己家中休養。久装
至於埃裏克森此後的被迫職業生涯 ，《米蘭體育報》認為 ，如果埃裏克森植入的是永久式的心髒複律除顫器 ，那麽他將不得不和足球說再見了 ，至少在意大利是如此。因為在意大利 ，球員是不能在佩戴永久心髒複律除顫器的情況下比賽的 。由於足球比賽的激烈程度 ，在球員發生對抗的時候 ，有可能會造成心髒複律除顫器的損壞。並且這並非是意大利某個州的法律 ，而是衛生係統通過醫學中心給出的明確指示 。即便是有布林德的先例 ，但荷蘭人佩戴的是皮下除顫器 ，與永久性除顫器有天壤之別。
《米蘭體育報》還提出了一種假設 ，那就是在四到五周之後，埃裏克森可以再次接受檢查 ，以此來確定他的心律失常是否可以治愈 。如果答案是肯定的 ，他的心律失常是暫時性的 ，那麽心髒複律除顫器可以被摘除。不過即便是如此 ，這也將會是一個漫長的過程，得到醫生的許可是必須的 。
