在哈姆拉威遇襲之後 ，法國媒體很快透露 ，幕後黑手很可能是巴黎女足中場球員迪亞洛 。為了得到更多出場時間 ，迪亞洛被懷疑買凶打傷哈姆拉威 。但不久之後 ，巴薩名宿阿比達爾卻又卷入了此事 ，律師表示“阿比達爾對此感到莫名其妙” 。
據法國《世界報》報道稱 ，行凶者在擊打哈姆拉威時 ，曾說過“你是不是就喜歡睡已婚男”。在事發第二天 ，哈姆拉威給阿比達爾打了電話 ，她的手機號也是注冊在阿比達爾名下 。《世界報》因此懷疑哈姆拉威和阿比達爾有染 ，而阿比達爾妻子海耶特也因此成了雇凶傷人的疑似主使者 。海耶特因此承受著巨大壓力 ，其律師則已經代表她進行了表態 。海耶特希望能盡快被傳喚 ，以便盡早終結這些在她看來毫無意義的流言蜚語。
