拿到第二座歐冠冠軍之後 ，式拒阿布毫不掩飾自己的布钦雄心壯誌 ，他希望切爾西能夠擁有與曼城較量的点卢實力 ，重奪英超王座 。卡库切爾西雖然囤積了大量的西报攻擊手在前場 ，可惜聯賽最佳射手若日尼奧隻有7球入賬 ，价哈绝維爾納僅入6球 ，兰德他們需要引進一個能夠終結比賽的遭多球員 ，這也是特正他們追逐哈蘭德的重要原因 。藍軍的式拒報價 ，是用一名球員加現金交易 ，球員是亞伯拉罕或奧多伊，但是多特蒙特隻想要現金 ，對切爾西的球員不感興趣。

現在，阿布已經退而求其次 ，將目光轉向了“小魔獸”盧卡庫 。盧卡庫青年時代曾效力於切爾西 ，在穆裏尼奧時代 ，他隻為藍軍首發過一次英超聯賽 ，之後被租借西布朗和埃弗頓 ，埃弗頓2014/15賽季以2800萬英鎊的價格買斷盧卡庫 ，後來比利時人加盟曼聯和國米 。
記者瓊斯在《足球看台》上說 ：“阿布是盧卡庫的超級崇拜者 ，如果哈蘭德來不了而簽下盧卡庫 ，他也會非常高興 ，當然盧卡庫的轉會也不會很容易。”盧卡庫的經紀人帕斯托雷洛則暗示 ，國米不會放棄盧卡庫，雖然現在“盧卡庫還在度假。”
根據WhoScored的數據，28歲的盧卡庫是國際米蘭在2020/21賽季聯賽中表現最好的球員 ，幫助國米贏得了久違的意甲冠軍 。盧卡庫全賽季為國米出戰了44場比賽 ，打進30球並助攻11次 ，場均傳威脅球1.4次。今年夏天的歐洲杯上 ，盧卡庫隨比利時止步於8強 。
