在上周末進行的國家隊熱身賽中，荷蘭主場4-2戰勝丹麥。失和不過荷蘭國家隊隊長範迪克質疑主帥範加爾的范迪戰術 ，稱自己更喜歡踢433陣型 。克公开质對此範加爾回應 ，疑范“教練決定球隊的战术直戰術” 。
在本場比賽中 ，更爱荷蘭使用3412陣型 ，将帅加範迪克 、失和德裏赫特 、范迪阿克組成了三中衛搭檔。克公开质盡管荷蘭最終獲勝 ，疑范但也被對手丹麥攻入了兩球。战术直範迪克賽後表示 ：“直到今天 ，更爱我們一直在努力訓練 ，将帅加有很多戰術和會議 。有美好的時光 ，但也有需要改進的地方 ，我們將對此進行分析 。”

而範加爾教練隨後也做出了回應：“我知道範迪克對陣型的偏好，他總是公開這麽說 。當我來到荷蘭國家隊執教時 ，我們就進行過討論 。但教練決定球隊的戰術 。”北京時間3月30日淩晨2時45分 ，荷蘭國家隊將和德國踢一場熱身賽 ，屆時荷蘭是否會繼續使用三後衛戰術引人關注 。
70歲的老帥範加爾已經是第三次執教荷蘭國家隊 ，他在去年8月成為荷蘭主帥 。之後 ，範加爾已經率領荷蘭踢了8場比賽 ，取得6勝2平的不敗戰績 。此前 ，荷蘭一直踢傳統的433陣型 ，不過考慮到2022年世界杯，範加爾也希望能找到備選陣型 。
