北京時間12月11日 ，意求员经已和切爾西主帥圖赫爾希望能補強球隊的购皇高层中場位置 ，而《郵報》援引西班牙《國家報》的马主報道稱 ，圖赫爾看上了皇馬後腰卡塞米羅 ，力球球員的纪人經紀人已經和切爾西高層會麵 。
圖赫爾上任後一直把若日尼奧和坎特視為中場主力，意求员经已和但坎特近期傷病增多 ，购皇高层這使得他缺席了不少比賽 。马主在今年夏天切爾西未能引進中場強援，力球隻能在轉會窗口關閉前匆忙租借了馬競中場薩烏爾 。纪人不過薩烏爾在英超水土不服 ，意求员经已和至今隻在英超首發兩次 ，购皇高层而且兩次都表現不佳在中場休息時就被早早換下 。马主
如今圖赫爾希望引進新的力球強大中場 ，並且對卡塞米羅感興趣 。纪人現年29歲的卡塞米羅在皇馬是絕對主力後腰 ，不過《國家報》認為 ，自從安切洛蒂上任後 ，卡塞米羅在隊內的地位已經下降 ，而且近期卡塞米羅的表現也有所下滑 。卡塞米羅本人對轉會切爾西持開放態度 ，他的經紀人曾多次和切爾西高層會麵 。
切爾西想要簽下卡塞米羅 ，需要開出超過5000萬英鎊的轉會費才有望說服皇馬放人 。此外 ，還有其他一些豪門也對卡塞米羅感興趣 ，切爾西麵臨激烈競爭 。目前皇馬正在試圖挖角切爾西後衛呂迪格 ，而求購卡塞米羅可能就是切爾西對皇馬做出的還擊。
《郵報》還表示，呂迪格的合同在明夏到期 ，而且一直拒絕續約 ，切爾西已經開始尋找新的中衛作為替代者 ，首選目標就是萊斯特城的福法納 。這位20歲的法國後衛上賽季為萊斯特城出場38次表現出色 ，不過本賽季福法納遭遇傷病困擾，需要等到明年才能傷愈複出 。此外 ，切爾西依然對塞維利亞後衛孔德感興趣 ，今年夏天切爾西就曾求購孔德但沒有成功 。
