4月15日 ，王霜在武漢市漢陽區西大街小學2021年校園足球聯賽上 ，童年体四處可見“國足一姐”王霜兒時在母校球場上的时期影像海報 。作為王霜的展现足球啟蒙地 ，西大街小學用王霜頑強拚搏 、过人不言放棄的优势精神激勵孩子們 。王霜曾經的立志班主任說，這個伢從小就立誌當球星 ，当球意誌力非常強 。王霜

語文老師孫莉琴是时期王霜小學一到四年級的班主任 ，也是展现推薦她進入校足球隊的關鍵人物。王霜從小在姨媽姨父家長大 ，过人表哥曹國棟是优势校足球隊員 ，每天放學後她就在球場邊一邊等一邊跟著練。立志老師們發現王霜很有天賦 ，孫莉琴就跟她家人建議 ，讓王霜進球隊一起練 。“她姨父是個球迷 ，立馬同意了，還經常帶他們看比賽 。有一次記者在足球賽場拍到臉上畫著國旗的小球迷 ，那正是王霜 ，還刊發在《長江日報》上 。她拿著報紙給我看 ，特別得意 ，說自己以後一定要當球星。”

李紅兵是王霜當年的體育老師 ，也是校田徑隊負責人 ，他告訴長江日報記者 ：“王霜的體能非常好，還進入了校田徑隊 ，在區裏拿過兩次800米冠軍 。她每天早上7點來校訓練 ，下午放學先後參加田徑隊、足球隊，常常練到晚上8點 。這個娃非常刻苦，在賽場上有一股衝勁和不服輸的韌勁。當年沒有女足隊 ，她是足球場上唯一一名女球員 ，非常耀眼 。”
6年的訓練奠定了王霜的足球基礎 ，她12歲便入選女足國少隊。王霜六年級的班主任莫凱說 ：“這個孩子非常有凝聚力，課間同學們都喜歡找她玩，她會帶著大家一起做體育運動遊戲 。”

剛剛踢完一場比賽的學校女足隊員萬桂緣芳說：“王霜是我的偶像，在比賽場上不到最後一刻 ，從沒想過輸贏 ，堅持不懈地拚搏 ，我要成為像她一樣的球星 。”
“王霜當年就在學校這裏的操場上刻苦訓練 、比賽，她從這裏出發 ，走向全國 ，衝向世界 。希望同學們向王霜姐姐學習 ，學習她頑強拚搏 、不言放棄的精神 ，在今後的學習中 ，勇於挑戰。”黨總支書記餘軍介紹 ，西大街小學是全國百所足球特色學校之一 ，武漢市先進足球傳統項目學校，湖北省足球特色學校 ，武漢市漢陽區男 、女足青訓中心 。除了王霜 ，從西大街小學還走出了鄧卓翔 、榮昊 、徐驍等一批知名球員。
