據意大利轉會專家迪馬濟奧報道，曝米吉魯加盟米蘭的兰已事接近敲定 ，目前紅黑軍團和切爾西就轉會事宜基本達成了協議 ，基本吉鲁轉會費100萬歐元外加獎金 。谈妥
此前 ，费万切爾西與吉魯完成了續約 ，欧万欧浮而米蘭則希望能以免簽的曝米方式簽下吉魯 。最終 ，兰已米蘭做出讓步 ，基本吉鲁同意向切爾西支付一定的谈妥轉會費 。報道稱，费万米蘭將向切爾西支付100萬歐元的欧万欧浮轉會費，外加100萬歐元與個人表現掛鉤的曝米獎金 。2020-21賽季 ，兰已米蘭在伊布的基本吉鲁帶領下拿到聯賽亞軍 ，贏得了歐冠席位 。但伊布在賽季末受傷 ，且無緣征戰歐洲杯 ，此前米蘭給伊布尋找的替補曼朱也在賽季結束後離隊，因此米蘭需要引進吉魯。
上賽季，35歲的吉魯為切爾西出場31次 ，打進11球 。
