兩輪比賽過後，分榜兩戰全勝的利提意大利積6分排名小組第一，已經提前鎖定一個出線名額 。前出而一戰一平的线土希望威爾士目前積4分，末輪比賽 ，渺茫紅龍軍團隻要保持不敗 ，欧洲就能確保以小組第二的身份出線。如果末輪威爾士輸球 ，瑞士贏球的話 ，以威爾士現在的積分 ，就算滑落到小組第三，也有出線的可能 。
瑞士方麵 ，小組賽前兩場比賽，瑞士1平1負僅僅隻拿到了1個積分 ，進1球丟3球 。這樣的積分讓瑞士在末輪對陣土耳其的時候隻能背水一戰 ，在力爭取勝的同時 ，還需要多爭取淨勝球 ，這樣他們才有可能以小組第二的身份直接晉級到淘汰賽。如果他們最終隻能排在小組第三 ，隻要戰勝土耳其 ，拿到4分 ，瑞士還是有希望晉級淘汰賽的。
由於四個成績最好的小組第三能夠晉級到淘汰賽，因此雖然土耳其兩戰皆負，他們並沒有完全提前出局 ，末輪對陣瑞士 ，隻要土耳其戰勝對手 ，並且能夠有機會撈到足夠多的淨勝球 ，星月軍團還是有可能以小組第三的身份晉級。當然，直接從這個小組晉級 ，土耳其是沒有機會了 。
