3月20日 ，沧州央視《足球之夜》節目中，雄狮可能遞補參加中超聯賽的老总两队滄州雄獅老總表示，目前球隊的引援引援目標重點放在天津和江蘇兩支球隊中 ，今年的目标球隊是最近幾年最強的 。
古特比表示 ：“今年球隊新的锁定名字滄州雄獅是很符合我們球員、教練員 、津苏近年工作人員 ，球队以及球迷的最强氣質的 ，實話說球隊的沧州DNA是不會改變的 ，希望能把俱樂部原有的雄狮悠久傳統帶到新的城市 ，能夠幫助我們創造更好的老总两队成績 。”
“球隊有了資金的引援支持 ，能夠讓我們簽下一些更好的目标球員 ，對新賽季有更好的锁定期待 ，很幸運能夠有新的球員的加盟 ，這是之前我們意料之外的 ，很榮幸的說這些名字都是響當當的 ，這也是球迷值得期待的 。我們已經聽到了一些傳聞 ，所以我們就按這套的標準全方位去準備，這樣一有官宣的話 ，我們可以按照中超的標準去準備聯賽 ，我們的管理團隊很強大，能夠把多鍾情況都準備出。”
滄州董事長李強表示：“俱樂部也是第一時間調整了引援的策略 ，將引援的目標重點放在天津泰達和江蘇蘇寧這兩支出問題的球隊身上 ，同時，得益於今年足協的限薪政策 ，也使得我們這支中小型俱樂部能夠有機會接觸到一些優秀的球員 ，目前球隊的引援工作十分順利，球員的基本框架已然形成，目前球隊陣容可以說是近幾年來最強的 ，所以我們對新的賽季充滿了信心和期待 。”
