3月18日 ，职业组月正式准入中超重慶當代俱樂部通過官方渠道 ，联盟宣布其球隊正式更名為重慶兩江競技 。筹备按照中國足協 、日召職業聯盟籌備組工作部署，公布新賽季各級職業聯賽準入名單將於3月23日在京舉行的名单“職業聯盟籌備組媒體見麵會”上正式公布。從目前情況看 ，职业组月正式准入處境艱難的联盟江蘇足球俱樂部 、天津津門虎俱樂部大概率無緣獲得新賽季中超參賽資格滄州雄獅 、筹备浙江綠城大概率將遞補參加新賽季中超聯賽 。日召
重慶當代俱樂部稱：“根據中國足協於2020年12月14日發布的公布《關於各級職業聯賽實行俱樂部名稱非企業化變更的通知》文件精神 ，依照名稱非企業化變更的名单相關要求 ，我俱樂部經過慎重篩選、职业组月正式准入討論研究後向中國足球協會申報了中性名調整方案 ，联盟現方案已通過相關部門審核 ，筹备即日起’重慶當代力帆足球俱樂部有限公司’正式更名為’重慶兩江競技足球俱樂部有限公司’。”
截止到目前 ，絕大多數俱樂部已經按規定落實了更名 。而中國足協有關新賽季各級職業聯賽的準入審核工作也已經臨近尾聲 。職業聯盟籌備組目前正積極落實新賽季中超聯賽開賽各項籌備工作，與之相關的商務開發及媒體版權合作事宜也都在積極落實之中 。
按計劃，職業聯盟籌備組將於3月23日與媒體見麵。屆時 ，“籌備組”將正式公布各級職業聯賽俱樂部準入名單 。
