2月16日 ，国足中超廣州足球俱樂部通過官方渠道宣布 ，不排本土杯赛俱樂部與艾克森 、除继出战高拉特、续留阿蘭 、用归员或亚洲洛國富、化球費南多5名歸化球員終止合約。国足不過 ，不排本土杯赛對於入籍球員蔣光太去留 ，除继出战俱樂部並沒有具體說明 。续留
廣州足球俱樂部在官方公告中這樣寫道 ：“經友好協商 ，用归员或亚洲廣州足球俱樂部與歸化球員艾克森 、化球高拉特 、国足阿蘭 、不排本土杯赛洛國富、除继出战費南多終止合約 。在此 ，我們衷心感謝這五名球員為廣州隊和廣大球迷贏得的所有榮譽與輝煌 ，並真誠祝福五位球員未來一切順利！”
事實上 ，對於這樣一個結果 ，外界早有預料 。去年隨國足參加完12強賽第6輪角逐後，阿蘭就由西亞徑直返回巴西 。而艾克森 、洛國富雖然隨國足返回國內 ，但並沒有代表球隊參加2021賽季中超聯賽第2階段比賽。至於費南多 ，自去年5月底由國足訓練營離開後 ，一直身在巴西 。他至今也未能代表國足參加哪怕一場正式比賽 。
與廣州隊已經解約的5名歸化球員中 ，目前除高拉特已經作為外援加盟巴甲桑托斯俱樂部外，其餘4人的“下家”目前還沒有得到明確 。從目前情況看，幾名歸化球員仍有望接到國內俱樂部報價 。至於蔣光太，有消息顯示，他有可能留在中超俱樂部效力 。
在國家隊層麵 ，隨著中國隊提前無緣卡塔爾世界杯決賽階段 ，外界猜測球隊接下來將進行相當幅度的更新換代 。不過據了解 ，考慮到歸化球員具備一定個人能力，且球隊明年還要在本土參加亞洲杯賽 ，因此中國隊不排除繼續留用歸化球員的可能性 。
