北京時間3月29日 ，利物拉赫據《鏡報》報道，浦质埃及足協已經提供了一份健康出征聲明 ，疑萨硬上表明隊中第一球星薩拉赫一切正常 ，埃及以緩解利物浦球迷們對於此事的足协質詢 。
埃及剛剛在世預賽非洲區的挺好挺健比賽中1-0戰勝塞內加爾，接下來雙方將進行第二回合的利物拉赫較量，以決定一個參加2022卡塔爾世界杯決賽階段比賽的浦质名額 。薩拉赫製造了首回合的疑萨硬上烏龍球 ，但他看上去顯的埃及有些困擾 ，在這場比賽中，足协埃及球星所發揮出的挺好挺健遠遠不是他的最佳狀態 。
這引起了利物浦球迷的利物拉赫懷疑 ，他們認為他依然在忍受著與布萊頓比賽時所受的浦质傷 ，並就此質疑埃及足協讓他們最致命的疑萨硬上武器帶傷上陣的決定。
埃及足協對此迅速做出回應 ，公布了球隊健康情況 ：除了停賽的埃爾-溫什之外，其他球員都保持著健康並將隨隊前往塞內加爾參戰 。
在首回合獲勝後 ，埃及是現在的晉級熱門 ，但是也要考慮到 ，在僅僅47天之前的非洲杯決賽上 ，馬內的國家隊剛剛擊敗了薩拉赫的國家隊奪冠，將這場比賽稱為目前非洲大陸上最好的兩支球隊之間的較量也好不誇張 ，這使得比賽本身看點十足 。
但是 ，人們同樣對於世預賽非洲區的晉級規則產生了一些質疑 ，隻有一支球隊能夠進入世界杯決賽階段的比賽，非洲隻分配到了5個名額 。這意味著將有幾個足球強國無法出現在卡塔爾：比如除了塞內加爾與埃及二選一之外 ，喀麥隆與阿爾及利亞正在為一個名額對決 ，加納與尼日利亞同樣也是如此，非洲大陸一些優秀的球隊注定將無緣本屆賽事。
