《太陽報》指出 ，锁定羅傑斯目前在藍狐的瓜帅年薪為1000萬英鎊 ，如果想讓其跳槽 ，派教熱刺需要拿出一份為期4年 ，热刺年薪1250萬英鎊的合同 。此外 ，熱刺還需要向萊斯特城支付一筆主帥的轉會費 ，金額則與拜仁挖角納格爾斯曼時近似 ，達到2000萬英鎊 。兩項相加 ，熱刺要為羅傑斯支付高達7000萬英鎊的代價。而且，熱刺不但需要為羅傑斯交錢，他的背後團隊同樣需要熱刺付出一些 。
而在接受采訪時 ，羅傑斯也婉拒了熱刺 ，“托特納姆是一家偉大的俱樂部 ，但是……我在這裏非常開心 ，我希望繼續在這裏工作 。”
