黎巴嫩隊在本屆12強賽開賽之前並不為外界所看好 ，协重是奖千公認最弱的球隊之一 ，但在第一小組前四輪比賽中卻取得了1勝1平1負的美元成績 ，目前以積5分排名第三 ，黎黎足特別是巴嫩表现上一輪客場3比2擊敗了敘利亞隊 ，取得首勝，男足極大地鼓舞了黎巴嫩民眾的强赛士氣 。在這種情況下 ，出色黎巴嫩足協決定拿出5000美元 ，协重獎勵全體球員以及教練組成員 。奖千

黎巴嫩足協表示 ，他們希望這筆重獎能夠起到鼓舞士氣的作用 ，在接下來11月11日主場對陣伊朗隊 、11月16日主場對陣阿聯酋隊的兩場比賽中爭取好成績 ，努力爭取至少維係目前小組第三的成績 ，力爭能夠進軍卡塔爾世界杯 。
