事實上在頒獎典禮上 ，心情C羅就已經表態 ，這個獎項意義重大 ，“我希望再踢四五年 ，我熱愛足球 。首先我要感謝我的國家隊隊友 ，我從來沒有想過會打破國家隊進球紀錄 ，現在我打入115個進球，原來的紀錄好像是109球吧 。我為FIFA頒發的這個特別獎感到非常自豪 ，我非常尊重這個機構 。我也要對我的家人 、妻子以及孩子們說謝謝 ，我很快會再次成為父親 ，我非常的自豪，這是一項偉大的成就 。”
