C羅在今夏一直想要轉會離隊，正努主席走而尤文也願意放人減輕薪水壓力 。求离此前C羅曾和皇馬 、队尤曼聯 、文前巴黎聖日耳曼傳出緋聞 ，越早但皇馬主帥安切洛蒂已經公開否認簽回C羅的罗力寻傳聞 ，而大巴黎則選擇了免簽梅西 。正努主席走上周《羅馬體育報》就曾報道 ，求离經紀人門德斯已經向曼城推薦了C羅 。
而本周法國《隊報》也透露 ，C羅正在尋求轉投曼城 ，他甚至已經和B席 、魯本-迪亞斯 、坎塞洛等葡萄牙國家隊隊友談論過加盟曼城的話題。曼城在今夏的鋒線首選引援目標是凱恩 ，但熱刺始終不願放人 ，這導致凱恩的轉會談判陷入了僵局 。
曼城如今依然沒有簽下合適的新前鋒 ，而夏季轉會期隻剩一周時間，此時經紀人希望乘機向曼城推薦C羅 。C羅和尤文的合同隻剩一年到期 ，他的身價將遠遠低於凱恩 ，而且尤文願意放人 ，曼城引進C羅不會遇到太大阻礙 。但目前曼城還沒有對凱恩死心 ，仍在繼續和熱刺談判。
而尤文俱樂部前主席喬瓦尼-吉利則公開表示 ，C羅越早離隊越好 。“我一直很誠實地說，簽下C羅就是個錯誤 。不可能收回在他身上的投資 ，而且始終如此 。C羅是一位偉大的球員，但我要說實話 ，他越早離開 ，對他自己和尤文俱樂部都越好 。”
喬瓦尼-吉利曾在2006年至2009年擔任尤文主席，他接著說：“我希望阿萊格裏知道如何繼續使用C羅 ，就像他在對烏迪內斯的比賽中所做的那樣 。也就是說 ，在比賽進行時要有頭腦 。C羅阻礙了尤文的進攻 ，沒有他球隊在團隊方麵可以做得更好。”
