北京時間11月8日下午，更改從阿聯酋沙迦傳來消息 ，开球卡塔爾世預賽亞洲區12強賽第5輪中國隊與阿曼隊 、时间商务第6輪中國隊與澳大利亞隊的理由联比賽確認分別將於當地時間11月11日 、16日晚7點（北京時間晚11點）開球 。必须雖然中國隊非常希望將開球時間盡量延後，充分但亞足聯商務合作方從維護賽事轉播權益角度出發 ，亚足最終拒絕了這一提議 。角度拒国
上周末，足申亞足聯通過官方渠道曾透露，更改中國隊本月兩場12強賽比賽的开球開球時間分別安排在沙迦當地時間11月11日 、16日晚7點 。时间商务不過 ，理由联比賽最終開球時間並沒有確定 。必须國際足聯 、充分亞足聯一般來說都會在賽前至少一周對外公布各場比賽的大致開球時間表。而參賽主隊可根據自身需求，向亞足聯及其轉播合作方提出調整開球時間的申請 ，但理由必須充分 。
舉例來說，中國隊在10月7日12強賽第3輪角逐中 ，同樣坐鎮沙迦主場 ，迎戰越南隊。賽前一周多 ，亞足聯也同樣將該場比賽開球時間預定在當地時間7日晚7點 ，但經過中國足協與有關方麵的斡旋 ，開球時間延後2小時 ，至當地時間晚9點，也就是北京時間8日淩晨1點 。而第4輪客戰沙特隊的比賽也較原計劃延後1小時開球 ，至當地時間10月12日晚8點 ，北京時間13日淩晨1點開球 。
據了解 ，中國隊考慮到近期沙迦地區室外溫度仍較高，希望將本月兩場比賽開球時間延後1到2小時 。不過 ，最終遭到了亞足聯商務合作方的拒絕。至於拒絕的理由，其實也很簡單。從賽事轉播角度來說 ，如果比賽安排在北京時間淩晨進行 ，那麽球迷將不可避免地熬夜看球 。此外 ，國足本月兩輪比賽分別安排在工作日內進行 ，因此比賽直播收視率也會受到影響 。
當然 ，對中國隊而言，天氣因素並不是決定成敗的最重要原因 。而11月沙迦的氣溫較幾個月前甚至1個月前有所降低。中國隊當下最重要的工作便是聚精會神 ，提升備戰質量 。
按照計劃 ，國足將於當地時間11月8日赴沙迦體育場進行本次西征的第2次室外訓練 ，包括當天歸隊的武磊在內 ，中國隊全體成員都將參加本次訓練 。
