本報訊（記者 趙睿）日前 ，大目标李鐵帶領國足打進12強賽 ，足协完成了“小目標” ，高层收獲了包括中國足協高層在內的对李信任 ，但續約的铁比事情暫時還沒有進一步的消息 。據本報記者了解 ，信心中國足協高層對李鐵比較有信心 。强赛
李鐵在接受采訪時表示 ，大目标他對續約的足协態度是“在階段任務完成之後 ，我可以選擇繼續，高层但足協也有權另做選擇 ，对李這都是铁比很正常的情況” 。
李鐵認為40強賽和12強賽是信心兩種不同的境遇 ，前者不允許有任何閃失 ，强赛“所以選擇了一些相對經驗較為豐富的大目标球員 ，老隊員相對多了一些 ，目的是為完成這次任務。”圍繞著12強賽該如何建隊，需要有統一認識的過程 ：“是繼續用現在這些老隊員去衝 ？還是應該注意換血了 ？用年輕球員 ，兩種可能 ，一是可能有意外之喜 ，另一個則有可能是頭破血流 。”
李鐵直言 ：“對於12強賽 ，如果給我機會 ，我肯定會全力以赴去完成衝擊任務。但另一方麵 ，作為一個中國足球人 ，我所需要考慮的不隻是完成任務，更要在現階段對中國足球下一步的全麵發展盡到一個足球人的義務和責任 ，不能隻圖眼前。”很顯然 ，在李鐵看來本屆12強賽是中國隊嚐試改變“急功近利”“隻圖眼前”的一個契機，在可能的情況下 ，他有個“大目標”──在努力爭取世界杯入場券的同時，為中國隊今後的建設 ，確切地說為下個世預賽周期做一些準備工作。
