莫拉塔錯失單刀機會的林两乐神一幕出現在比賽第38分鍾 ，當時西班牙拋出前場左側邊線球，大神瑞典中衛丹尼爾森判斷落點失誤 ，锋互右腳解圍時掄了空氣 ，飚快身後的技屡机莫拉塔順勢獲得單刀球機會 ，麵對出擊的点赞瑞典門將羅賓-奧爾森 ，莫拉塔將皮球推出了遠端立柱 。錯過如此破門絕佳機會之後 ，莫拉塔本人低下了頭 ，隊友雙手抱頭為莫拉塔感到遺憾 ，場邊的西班牙主帥恩裏克更是氣憤的跳了起來……
在這之後 ，莫拉塔的心態可能發生了變化 ，他在第49分鍾時同樣獲得破門機會 ，但大禁區線上的右腳低射再次偏出了門框範圍 。

值得一提的是 ，在早些時候進行的英格蘭對陣克羅地亞的比賽中 ，英格蘭“快樂天神”斯特林頻繁錯失破門良機 ，但三獅軍團創造了不少進球機會 ，斯特林最終把握住了其中的一次機會 ，帶領英格蘭全取3分 ，並且獲得了全場比賽的MVP 。
