舒波莫廷是喀麦喀麥隆目前最出色的球員之一，但卻落選了最新一期國家隊 。隆足落选在接受《圖片報》采訪時，错邮舒波莫廷的拜仁父親揭曉了謎底。原來舒波莫廷落選並非是大将队因為傷病或者狀態問題 ，而是业余因為喀麥隆足協工作人員發錯了郵件 ！
舒波莫廷的喀麦父親也是他的經紀人 ，他對此事給出了自己的隆足落选說法：“在看到大名單中沒有舒波莫廷之後 ，我立刻聯係了喀麥隆足協 。错邮喀麥隆主帥給出的拜仁回複，是大将队舒波莫廷沒有回足協發出的征召郵件 。我立刻聯係了拜仁 ，业余拜仁表示沒收到喀麥隆足協發出的喀麦郵件 。然後我又與喀麥隆足協核實此事 ，隆足落选最後發現他們在發郵件時輸錯了拜仁的郵箱地址。這個錯誤今天才剛剛被發現 ，這簡直太業餘了。”
在2011年1月時，舒波莫廷就曾是這類奇葩事件的男主角 。舒波莫廷當時要從漢堡壓哨轉會租借加盟科隆 ，但在傳輸文件時遭遇俱樂部傳真機故障。由於沒能在轉會窗口關閉前完成相關手續 ，舒波莫廷最終沒能在那個冬天完成轉會 。在2011年夏天，舒波莫廷以自由轉會的方式加盟美因茨 。
