目前在積分榜上 ，利茲聯37輪過後積35分 ，多賽一場高出降級圈1分 ，保級形勢並不樂觀 。如果利茲聯最終不幸降級 ，那麽盡管卡爾文-菲利普斯可能不願離隊 ，但他依舊有可能被套現 。
卡爾文-菲利普斯知道自己能在別的地方拿到3倍於現在的薪水 ，並且還有機會在瓜迪奧拉麾下踢球 ，而能參加歐冠更是難以拒絕的誘惑。《鏡報》同時指出 ，雖然皇馬和巴黎同樣也對卡爾文-菲利普斯有意，但球員本人更希望留在英超發展 。
