北京時間7月1日，再染英國媒體《鏡報》消息 ，停赛英格蘭四名主力存在禁賽風險 ，双铁馬奎爾 、面对賴斯 、危机卡爾文-菲利斯和福登都有黃牌在身 ，隐患英格腰皆一旦他們在歐洲杯1/4決賽對陣烏克蘭的再染比賽中再次吃到黃牌 ，將無緣參加半決賽 。停赛
歐洲杯1/8決賽 ，双铁英格蘭2-0擊敗德國 ，面对晉級八強 ，危机三獅軍團時隔55年再次在國際大賽的隐患英格腰皆淘汰賽中擊敗德意誌戰車 。需要指出的再染是 ，英格蘭本場比賽也付出了一定的停赛代價 ，賴斯 、卡爾文-菲利普斯和馬奎爾先後吃到黃牌 ，主帥索斯蓋特為了能夠讓球隊取勝 ，他們三人在英德大戰中踢完了90分鍾 。
至此 ，算上福登 ，英格蘭已有四名球員身背黃牌 。需要指出的是 ，福登是在英格蘭小組賽第一輪1-0擊敗克羅地亞的比賽中吃到黃牌 ，他首發出戰了前兩輪小組賽 ，但小組賽第三輪1-0擊敗捷克 ，以及1/8決賽2-0擊敗德國的兩場比賽 ，曼城天才都在板凳上坐滿90分鍾 。談到福登被放在替補席上 ，英格蘭主帥索斯蓋特給出了解釋 ，“由於芒特和奇爾韋爾被隔離 ，所以我不想再冒險 ，因為福登已經有一張黃牌在身 。所以，這對於福登來說很遺憾，但我認為這是一個明智的選擇 。”
由此可見，英格蘭主帥索斯蓋特對球員們存在禁賽的風險有多麽的緊張 。慶幸的是 ，芒特和奇爾韋爾解禁在即 ，但馬奎爾 、賴斯、卡爾文-菲利普斯和福登麵臨禁賽危機，一旦他們在1/4決賽對陣烏克蘭的比賽中吃到黃牌 ，他們將缺席半決賽 。英國媒體《鏡報》指出 ，如果他們四名球員在踢烏克蘭的比賽中沒有染黃，那麽根據歐洲杯規則，小組賽 、1/8決賽和1/4決賽吃到的黃牌，將在半決賽時清零 。
如此情況下 ，英格蘭主帥索斯蓋特可能會在1/4決賽選擇輪換 ，避免已經吃到黃牌的球員們被禁賽 。據悉 ，亨德森有望取代賴斯或卡爾文-菲利普斯先發出場 ，芒特也有望獲得首發機會 ，英德大戰表現不錯的格拉利什也有望獲得重用 。在特裏皮爾受傷後 ，英格蘭主帥索斯蓋特有意將三後衛變成四後衛 。
