穆裏尼奧經曆了賽季初的強勢起步 ，如今治下的球队全羅馬已經暴露出諸多問題 ，狂人在歐協杯小組賽中1-6慘敗給博德閃耀 ，遭遇责任穆帥賽後親承自己要為這個結果負責 ，历史而且定義為自己遭遇了一次曆史性的失败输球失敗 。
“這是穆帅我教練生涯第一次單場丟掉6球 ，我們遭遇了曆史性的球队全慘敗 。對我而言 ，遭遇责任如果俱樂部要我給一個說法應該怎麽辦？历史我已經在球隊內部做出了解釋，但我不會對外說球隊存在的失败输球問題 。輸球的穆帅責任在我，是球队全我做出的輪換調整 ，我們輸給了一個高水平的遭遇责任球隊 ，博德閃耀比羅馬發揮的历史更好。”
隨後穆裏尼奧表示 ：“如果我能一直用主力陣容，失败输球我會用的 ，但這存在風險 ，因為我們兩組球員的實力存在差距 ，我們有13名球員具備踢主力的水準，其他球員水平高低不同 。輪休是為了讓球員休息的更好 。我知道羅馬有自己的局限性 ，我期待未來會有更好的表現。當然我作為教練，上場球員和陣容都是我的戰術選擇 ，所以我要負責 。”
談到慘敗對於球員影響 ，穆帥說 ：“每一次失敗都會讓人傷心 ，我和球員交流過了 ，大家都很坦誠 ，我可以和他們敞開心扉 ，但是對於外界不能太坦誠 。我們的主力陣容發揮的很好 ，本賽季應該獲得更多的積分，我們擺正心態，準備周日的比賽。”
