馬加特現年69歲 ，东队队主曾執教過漢堡、主帅不萊梅 、马加法蘭克福 、特成斯圖加特 、为球沃爾夫斯堡、教练沙爾克和拜仁等球隊 。柏林2016年，赫塔馬加特成為中超山東隊主帥 ，官方但此次執教的前山時間並不長，2017年年底 ，东队队主山東隊宣布與馬加特不再續約 。
目前 ，柏林赫塔積23分暫時排在德甲倒數第二 。
