For the second day in a row, rockfalls have occurred on El Capitan, a popular rock formation located in Yosemite National Park in California. 。
The national park confirmed the fall on Twitter on Thursday, telling visitors that the Northside Drive exiting the Yosemite Valley is closed due to the fall crossing the road. 。

However, according to the Yosemite Climbing Association, the fall on Thursday was "much larger" than the fall on Wednesday, Scott Budman with NBC News reports. 。

Preliminary estimates report that the multiple falls on Wednesday resulted in 16,000 cubic feet of rock to cascade down from approximately 650 feet above the base of El Capitan. 。Rockfalls are not particularly unusual for Yosemite, and the park even has a rockfall chart that shows falls documented from 1857 to 2011. 。
