按照計劃 ，新赛新賽季中超聯賽將於4月20日晚在廣州天河體育中心拉開帷幕 。季中為給全季賽事開個好頭 ，超赛程今同時提振國內職業聯賽工作士氣 ，布揭中國足協、幕战職業聯盟經與各方溝通後 ，定档德比計劃將廣州隊與廣州城隊的广州“廣州德比”安排為新賽季中超聯賽揭幕戰 。
在上周上海舉行的新赛新賽季職業聯賽俱樂部負責人工作會議上 ，中國足協與職業聯盟籌備組向俱樂部介紹了新賽季各級職業聯賽開賽籌備情況、季中各項賽事大致競賽安排 、超赛程今中超聯賽首階段分組結果 ，布揭並就賽風賽紀 、幕战裁判工作等向俱樂部及各有關方提出了要求 。定档德比
不過 ，广州由於各級聯賽俱樂部準入名單直到上海會議前幾天才出台，新赛因此對於中超聯賽首階段各輪對陣形勢 ，職業聯盟籌備組還需與包括俱樂部 、轉播合作夥伴在內的各方精誠溝通。
據悉 ，開幕式暨揭幕戰的安排是賽事籌備工作的重點內容之一 。眾所周知，受疫情影響 ，上賽季中超聯賽自始至終采用集中賽製 ，雖然比賽從第1階段後半程才向少數觀眾開放，但票房收益根本無從談起 。這對於職業聯賽的打擊無疑是巨大的。
職業聯盟籌備組之所以在征求俱樂部意見後 ，決定將原本被分別安排在廣州賽區 、蘇州賽區的天津津門虎隊、廣州城隊組別對調 ，也是希望吸引更多賽區及賽區附近屬地球隊球迷到場觀賽 ，為各隊助威同時 ，也為提升聯賽影響力 、經濟收益創造有利條件 ，從而達到提振國內職業聯賽工作士氣的作用 。
經各方進一步溝通後 ，職業聯盟籌備組決定在4月20日廣州天體進行的新賽季中超揭幕戰中安排廣州隊與廣州城隊進行羊城德比 。
據了解，為了給全季中超聯賽開個好頭 ，職業聯盟籌備組還將在開幕式上推出簡短而富有文化色彩 、正能量元素的節目單元 。
此外，新賽季中超聯賽揭幕戰計劃對現場球迷開票 。按照賽事防疫及安保規定的要求，本場比賽預計開放觀眾席位約2.6萬個左右 。果真如此 ，那麽將對新賽季中超聯賽健康有序運行產生積極的啟示與引導作用 。
新賽季中超聯賽首階段各輪具體時間表及對陣形勢有望最快於4月8日晚些時候公布 。
