去年夏天 ，巴黎維納爾杜姆以自由身加盟了法甲班霸巴黎聖日耳曼 ，今夏但這位在利物浦大殺四方的强援中場 ，本賽季在已經為大巴黎出戰的已后英超19場比賽中僅攻入3球 ，助攻1次 。悔投和皇根據《阿斯報》的分别消息，維納爾杜姆已經為自己加盟巴黎聖日耳曼的巴黎決定感到了後悔 。原本科曼執教的今夏巴薩是維納爾杜姆離開利物浦後最有可能的下一站 ，但是强援巴黎聖日耳曼最後成功截胡。維納爾杜姆的經紀人曾表示 ：“萊昂納多表現出的專業和認真態度促使維納爾杜姆選擇了巴黎 。波切蒂諾也和他談過話 ，他告訴了維納爾杜姆將在球隊中扮演的角色 ，而這也是波切蒂諾執教熱刺時想要維納爾杜姆的原因 。”
