綜合國際足聯 、亞足聯先前敲定的季中賽曆，以及卡塔爾世界杯賽程來看 ，超周存月新賽季中超聯賽最早也要到4月下旬才能開賽。多赛而如果中超四隊均挺進亞冠正賽 ，不可避免且均安排全主力出戰亞冠比賽 ，中下那麽 ，新赛旬开性中超聯賽存在於6月中下旬開賽的季中可能性 。按照中國足協及中足聯籌備組的超周存月想法 ，新賽季中超力爭在10月底或11月上旬 ，多赛也就是不可避免卡塔爾世界杯開賽前落幕 。
由於中國隊於1月27日 、中下2月1日分別客戰12強賽第七輪對手日本隊 、新赛旬开性第八輪對手越南隊後，季中還將在12強賽最後兩輪分別主場戰沙特隊 、超周存月客戰阿曼隊，且此兩場比賽分別安排在3月24日 、29日 。因此考慮到國腳回到國內後接受必要的醫學隔離觀察 ，因此新賽季中超聯賽理論上最早也要到4月下旬才能開賽 。
但另一個因素同樣不容忽視 ，那就是新賽季亞冠聯賽東亞大區小組賽將於4月15至5月1日以賽會集中製進行 。目前中國足協並沒有申辦此項賽事的意願 。這意味著泰山、海港 、廣州 、亞泰4家中超俱樂部如都躋身亞冠正賽 ，且均派主力參賽 ，同時兼顧中超聯賽 ，那麽中超聯賽就可能無法於四月下旬開賽 。考慮到5月底至6月中旬還有一段國際比賽日周期 ，中超聯賽從維護自身賽程完整性角度出發 ，可能就會在這段周期結束後開賽 。
需要說明的是 ，如果中超聯賽晚於今年5月開賽 ，那麽考慮到杭州亞運會足球賽於9月舉行 、足協杯賽也要舉行等因素，新賽季中超聯賽欲在世界杯開幕前完賽 ，其賽程同樣格外緊湊，一周多賽不可避免 。
