在當地時間9月7日晚 ，森保赛前示中北京時間8日淩晨卡塔爾多哈進行的有信12強賽第2輪角逐中 ，中國隊以0比1不敵日本隊 。息显续前賽後日本隊主帥森保一對本隊精神麵貌大加讚揚 。国队改后他同時表示 ，卫希望球球隊之所以能夠取勝中國隊是队继因為能夠靈活應對中國隊5後衛打法。
森保一總結說 ：“在上一場比賽輸球後 ，森保赛前示中我們的有信球員們展現了他們觸底反彈的精神 。他們改變了自己的息显续前精神麵貌 ，為這場和中國隊的国队改后比賽做好了準備，每名球員都很賣力 。卫希望球今天我們再一次像一個整體那樣去戰鬥 。队继我們依靠努力贏得了這場勝利 ，森保赛前示中我很高興我們完成了一次精神上的有信挑戰 。”
對於比賽取勝的息显续前技術原因 ，森保一分析說 ：“一開始我們認為中國隊會踢4後衛，不過賽前一些不同的信息顯示 ，他們也有可能會派出5名後衛，因此我決定選擇靈活的戰術 ，而球員們也根據場上的具體情況做出了反應 。”
對於後麵的比賽，森保一說 ：“我認為接下來我們在世預賽中還會麵對困難，今天的這場勝利能夠讓我們向目標邁進一步，我們必須始終為困難的比賽做好準備 ，為每一場比賽做好準備 ，展現出最好的狀態以及最頑強的鬥誌 ，我希望我們能夠繼續前進 。”
