北京時間10月3日，韩国據韓國多家媒體報道 ，主力中场战韓國國家隊主力中場 、权昌水原三星球員權昌勳因為腳踝重傷被排除在了韓國隊10月份的勋韧大名單之外 ，“目前仍在活躍在德國弗萊堡的裂休鄭優營”替補入選 。
當地時間2日的韩国K1聯賽第33輪 、水原三星對陣仁川聯隊的主力中场战比賽當中 ，權昌勳在下半場19分鍾與吳在錫的权昌的一次碰撞當中腳踝受傷，被替換下場 。勋韧賽後，裂休水原三星主教練樸建夏擔心地說 ：“權昌勳的韩国傷勢似乎並不輕 。”
當地時間10月3日 ，主力中场战韓國足協正式宣布 ，权昌權昌勳（Chang-Hoon Kwon）因為左腳踝受傷被排除在大名單之外，勋韧本賽季德甲7輪全部出場的裂休鄭優營遞補入圍。
3日下午，水原三星俱樂部也更新了權昌勳的傷情 ：“受傷一天後 ，在京畿道盆唐的Barunsang骨科診所進行了核磁共振檢查 ，被診斷出左腳踝前鼻咽韌帶斷裂和左腳踝內側三角韌帶損傷 。這不是簡單的扭傷 ，而是韌帶斷裂和受傷，完全無法可能進入國家隊上場比賽 。”根據水原三星的說法，權昌勳預計恢複期為3-4周 。
9月7日韓國隊主場對陣黎巴嫩的比賽中 ，權昌勳曾打入了製勝進球 。然而 ，賽後權昌勳被診斷出右小腿肌肉斷裂，預計缺席四周。
當地時間4日，由主教練保羅-本托率領的韓國隊將在坡州NFC（國家足球訓練中心）集結 ，備戰第3場對陣敘利亞（7日）和第4場對陣伊朗（12日）的比賽 。
