竊賊們發現了詹姆斯用來裝貴重物品的西球保險櫃，但一時無法打開保險櫃 ，於是就把整個保險櫃偷走了 。當時4名竊賊都難以推動這個大保險櫃，因此等在汽車上的另一名竊賊也下車幫忙 ，最終5人一起把保險櫃推上汽車後運走 。
裏斯-詹姆斯透露保險櫃中裝著自己贏得的上賽季歐冠獎牌 、歐洲超級杯獎牌 、以及今夏歐洲杯的銀牌。他發布了監控錄像 ，並在Instagram上表示 ：“這些獎牌是我代表切爾西和英格蘭隊贏得的 ，無論我是否還擁有獎牌 ，都無法從我身上奪走這些榮譽 。但盡管如此 ，我還是呼籲所有的切爾西球迷們和英格蘭球迷們幫助識別和找出這些沒品的人 。因為證據越來越多，他們將永遠無法安生 。”
