北京時間1月29日 ，曝博據英國媒體《太陽報》報道 ，格巴博格巴本人表示願意留在曼聯——前提是尼克朗尼克繼續擔任球隊主教練。這位中場球員在與紅魔新任主帥的打动担任多次交談當中 ，對他印象深刻，愿留以至於他準備好繼續留隊 ，曼联而不是核心在今年夏天以自由身離開俱樂部。
由於當地時間去年11月初在國際賽場大腿受傷 ，不走被朗博格巴迄今為止還沒有進入過朗尼克的曝博大名單 ，但是格巴主教練對未來的願景以及博格巴在曼聯可以發揮的作用已經贏得了球員的心 。前任主教練穆裏尼奧和索爾斯克亞都沒能找到解鎖這位創造昔日轉會世界紀錄身價球員最佳狀態的尼克鑰匙 ，但是打动担任朗尼克似乎可以 。他已經開始說服這位四次意甲冠軍得主成為球隊核心 ，愿留甚至打算圍繞他組建球隊陣容 ，曼联朗尼克還相信 ，博格巴可以成為更衣室裏一股鼓舞人心的力量 。
目前曼聯更衣室裏已經開始出現一些“派係”，但是博格巴仍然受到其他隊友的歡迎 ，朗尼克相信 ，法國球星會喜歡自己的這個新的“領導”角色 。
